Federal Government Lifts suspension on Dana Airlines

The Federal Government, has lifted the suspension imposed on Dana Airlines barely 48 hours after withdrawing their license. Dana Air’s License was withdrawn on Saturday, after one of their aircraft had issues with its battery.

However after a meeting among officials of the airline, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, and Aviation Ministry in Abuja on Monday 18th, March 2013 the suspension was lifted.

Consequently, the airline will resume flight operations today, according to the airline management.

Government, however, insisted on grounding the airline’s airplane that had a snag last weekend that necessitated the suspension.

According to Special Assistant to the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Joe Obi:

“However, the particular aircraft which had a snag over the weekend is to remain grounded until after its air-worthiness has been re-certified by Boeing, the manufacturer of the aircraft.”
